Type of organization: Entertainment Park
Organization’s activities: They have a lot of activities, the German and Dutch markets are very different so they have their own actions etc.
Target group of the organization: The park is for all target groups, families with children, families whiteout children, youth groups, business groups, schools etc.
Company culture: My position as a student was like a normal colleague. The association is normal also with the management. Everybody is nice and talk to each other.

In which department(s) are you working? It’s a big company with a lot of departments. Finance, food and beverage, entertainment, creative team, human resources, maintenance, IT, marketing, operations and retail.

Brief description of your company assignment: I did two researches:
– I did an online survey for the decision process from youth groups for day trips.
– I did a survey with Dutch visitors from Movie Park to find out what kind of demographic data’s they had.

Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: I got my own daily assignments en proceedings when I had questions I could ask them. They trusted me and I functioned like a real employee.

Requirements for students on placement

What kind of personal skills are required for this placement? all of the skills mentioned. It’s also good to have a car, because the house is not in a city with shops.
Additional company requirements for this placement? You have to work on the computer the whole day, you work with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. It’s not required because you also learn but a little but of knowledge is nice.

The trip

Mode of transport to reach your destination: You can reach it with the train, bus and car. I always took the car because my house was behind the park and that was not in the neighborhood of shops or supermarkets.

How did you arrange your accommodation? Movie Park arranged my accommodation; it was right behind the park.
How did you go to work every day? It was only a 5 minute walk to work.

I live direct on the German border so I knew the culture before. I think when you don´t know the culture that you have to watch out with some things you want to say because here they are more formal than in Holland.

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: –
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Not so much, there are a few big cities in the neighborhood but after work they where closed.
