Organization’s activities: Stay U-nique is a company that rents a lot of apartments around Barcelona.
These apartments are managed by interns who are working from the office. In the office are working a few managers and the president as well. Besides this, Stay U-nique is managing a hotel as well. called: Barcelona 226.In Barcelona 226 you will find 23 apartments and 12 hotel rooms. managed by 8 interns and one manager.
Target group of the organization: Mostly tourists
Company culture: There is a really good work atmosphere. There is literally no difference between the president, the managers or the interns in this company! Everyone is allowed to say whatever they want and the managers are willing to listen to your wishes.
They respect the fact that you are an intern and need to learn new things. They are always willing to help you and it’s definitely no problem to ask as many questions as you want.

Information about your placement

In which department(s) are you working? I am working in the hotel, that is called Barcelona 226.
Brief description of your daily activities: My daily tasks are very varied. It depends on which shift you are what your tasks will be.

Some examples for the morning shift:
* Prepare a paper for the cleaning lady which hotel rooms she needs to clean
* Prepare the booking papers for the checkins for that day, either for hotel and for the apartments
* Prepare the keycards for the hotel rooms and prepare the hotel rooms
* Follow up on the cleaning lady’s

Some examples for the afternoon shift:
* Check the list for invalid bookings
* Send thank you e-mails to check outs
* Check all the payments from the checkin from the previous day
* Prepare breakfast for the next day

During the day you need to answer e-mails, take phone calls and process incoming bookings.
Brief description of your company assignment: My company assignment is a customer satisfaction survey. I do this research on the basis of questionnaires.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: The supervision in this company is really good. The manager in the hotel is always willing to help you. Besides him, there is your internship supervisor as well. You will disgust your company assignment with him and he is always there to answer your questions and help you with you assignment.

What did the company pay for/to you? The company will give you 150 euro’s a month.
Besides this you can earn extra money by selling products (you earn commission on that)
but you can also do late check-ins after 21:00 you will get 20 euro and after 00:00 50 euro.
Normally this can be a total of 250 – 350 euro a month (including 150 salary)

Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: There are lots of parcs around Barcelona and the beach is good to go as well!
