Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: When you look for accommodation make sure that your able to reach public trasnport easily. This will help you get around much faster also to work. using a bike is possible but dangerous.
It is nice to have a roommate in that way you get to know more people.
On arrival make sure to buy a public transportation card, otherwise it will cost you more money paying per metro ticket. and keept the receipt!!!
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: On the last and first sundays of the month museums or colosseum will be free.
Trastevere is a nice area where you can find bars and nice restaurants.
Apart from Rome it is easy to visit other cities nearby using the train.
