Organization’s activities: CTO UK Chapter is a membership organisation which does the promotion of the Caribbean in terms of the UK and the European market.

Company culture: At CTO there is a hierarchy, the atmosphere is pleasant and everyone is there to help each other. Carol, had her own office while us, the other employees had a shared working space.

Information about your placement

In which department(s) are you working? Marketing & Sales Department
Brief description of your daily activities: In charge of the e-mails, incoming calls, preparation for different events, updating different documents; overall as an intern, I needed to help everyone with several activities but in this way, I learnt a lot when it comes to different departments. I went to different events: The Dive Show, The CTO’s Annual General Meeting, The NTO Meeting, Roadshows in London & Bristol, CTO Ball etc.
Brief description of your company assignment: My company assignment is how to attract the LGBT Market to the Caribbean
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: My supervisor, Ann-Marie, was always there to help me as there were my other colleagues.

How long in advance? Usually, I would take from time to time a day off and I needed to let my supervisor know one week in advance

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: I recommend going out and exploring the city as London is big and you cannot cover all the museums and all the other interesting places. London is big and it can get lonely sometimes.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Different activities such as going to the pubs, enjoying a walk near the Thames, going for a boat tour from Richmond etc. London is big and there are many activities which can be undertaken.
