In which department(s) are you working? Position: Marketing assistant
I was helping the marketing manager with her daily activities and sometimes I had to help people from the reservations team. Your sitting at a reception desk transferring calls every now and then and adding memberships. But this is just a small part of the day

Brief description of your daily activities: Making spreadsheets, Itineraries, Marketing proposal, Market research, Answering phone, Designing new promotional material, Building website, Small general tasks for the marketing manager such as making calls, putting together mailing list etc.
Brief description of your company assignment: Marketing proposal including business case, marketing mix, competition analysis, secondary market research, itineraries. It is made for a new product that is going to be launched soon. The marketing proposal will be send to a business consulting company who might finance the promotion of the product when marketing proposal is sufficient
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: As mentioned before you will work as marketing assistant. The marketing manager will help and assist you with several assignments. You are working at reception which means you are working alone (if there is no other intern), so at times you need to be independent and don’t mind working alone.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Many attractions in and outside dublin can be done for free, because you work for an organization that is quite big in Ireland. I’ve done 2 day tours so far for free. Had an irish storytelling nightfor free, an irish dancing show with dinner for free. Jameson whiskey tour for free etc etc..
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: I am going to a gym for 22 euro’s pw. There is a tv room, pool table and there are a few parks closeby. Nightclubs and bars are just 15mins walk awawy.
