Information about your placement

In which department(s) are you working? I have been introduced and taught about all aspects of the company however my focus is with regards to booking, contacting clients and creating tailor-made tours for our clientele.

My company assignment is more focused on the promotion and marketing aspect of the company.

Brief description of your company assignment: My company assignment is to research the potential target markets of a new tour that the company have created. I must also define how to enter the product onto the market and how feasible it is i.e. will it sell?

This involves both secondary research – ultimately a literature review as well as contacting travel agencies and others for primary research purposes.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: I am very well supervised and have been trained into the company properly as well as into the company’s system.

My supervisor is always happy to answer any questions I have and encourages me to be independent. Help is always at hand, with regards to daily activities as well as with NHTV and/or my company assignment.

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Iceland is a beautiful country that is unique in so many ways, especially with regards to nature; so if you’re here for 6 months you have to travel around and see as much as possible!
