Organization’s activities: Offering PADI courses from beginner to instructor level. Three dive trips per day for fun dives& courses. They also have on-site rooms and a restaurant.

Company culture: There are 2 managers for the dive centre, one is more focussed on the diving and the other one on the office. And there is one specific person who manages the bungalows. There is also someone who manages the restaurant, the restaurant is separately of the dive centre.

In which department(s) are you working? Marketing, but also some management
Brief description of your daily activities: Managing various social media sites. Photo database that is used for promotional purposes. Create & update the customer database. Office work. Talking to guests, answering questions.
Brief description of your company assignment: The impact of the interaction between the local community and the tourists in Gil Trawangan. Including the markets of the resort and their behaviour and culture. As well as the behaviour and culture of the local community. Also their behaviour towards each other. There could be a market that is preferred by the local community and/or a market that they dislike being in their environment. Included are the surroundings and context.

How did you prepare for the country’s culture?
I did not prepare. There are a lot of western people in Gil Trawangan. Only when you go more inland you find how the locals live. There are a lot of locals on the main street, but they all work there and they act in a different manner.
