In which department(s) are you working? General Management
Brief description of your daily activities: Checking costs (budget), check all departments –> Restaurant, Housekeeping, Bars, Entertainment, Engineering, Purchase. Also having conversations with the customers and if there are any problems you need to solve them. Update social media and checking review sites (Tripadvisor, Zoover & HolidayCheck).
Brief description of your company assignment: It is extremely beneficial to know, as Hotel Manager, why the tourists are choosing this hotel and what the visitor likes or what could be improved. There are many hotels in Cyprus, Paphos is a bustling resort. Why should customers choose a SENTIDO Hotel and why SENTIDO Cypria Bay?

Every week we will prepare questionnaires for the guests to complete in order to gain this information. I also intend to have personal contact with the guests on a regular basis to discuss the hotel and concept of SENTIDO. From these answers, I will reach a conclusion which will allow me to carry out a comparison with other hotel concepts. With these answers we will see if there are changes or additions needed to improve the customer satisfaction.

As and when required I will explore ways to find a remedy to resolve any problems or issues arising from this survey. For example, if I notice that there are many problems about a thing which guests lets us know on their last day I would try to change the system. The guest relations need to prepare questionnaires during guest’s holidays.

Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: They training me well. I am every day together with Melina, the General Manager. Sometimes I am together with Manos, the Food & Beverage Manager. They are explaining me everything very well and I have my own high responsibility.

How did you prepare for the country’s culture?
Not, I have been working in Turkey before and as I can say they are much more friendly in Cyprus. Everybody is very helpfull and like to learn you all the ins and outs of their culture.

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Be yourself and try to listen. If you work hard, you can do a lot.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: A lot, there are beaches, bars and café’s, shops, culture and sight seeing. Paphos is a very touristic place.
