Company culture: Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay is quite a bureaucratic organization. The atmosphere is informal and casual although very stressed. The work load for regular employees is high, however this is not the case for interns. Most people here don’t expect a lot from interns and don’t delegate much work to them.

In which department(s) are you working? HR
Brief description of your daily activities: I am responsible for a lot of administrative tasks, such as: sending emails to applicants, scheduling appointments (email as well as phone calls), scanning and filling, inserting leave and sick leave and aswering emails and phonecalls.
Brief description of your company assignment: Comparing timesheets with rosters for every department for every week and highlighting any possible patterns.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: This is very poor. My supervisor does not have the time to supervise me properly.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: I would not recommend future students to go to Malta. The island is very small and there is not much to do especially during winter time. Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: There are many leisure possilbilities especially during the summer. However, also during winter times one can go to the cinema, bowling or can go clubbing.
