In which department(s) are you working? Marketing
Brief description of your daily activities: updating social media platforms, creating new marketing strategies (campaigns), website maintenance, improving products, reviewing content, e-mail marketing, meetings with suppliers
Brief description of your company assignment: Creation of new e-mail marketing templates:

• Refresh the A&K e-mail templates to improve enquiries and click throughs
• Ensure the new templates leverage new technologies that are now available (e.g. responsive design so the emails will look good on tablets and mobile devices which isn’t the case at the moment)
• Create new templates that are brand appropriate with a more modern look and feel
• Give clients the opportunity to make a selection on which categories of e-mail marketing they would like to receive.
• Design the templates in a way that will assign each template to a certain purpose of Enews.
• Create templates that are in conjunction with ‘My A&K’.

Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: Very good supervisor, I can ask my supervisor any questions that I have and she helps me out very well. Her name is Lauren Drummond and she is the marketing executive.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Just go with the flow, the people in Australia are very kind and helpful. Formalities in Australia are a bit different and everybody is very open to each other. Just do your best and everything will be fine.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Gyms are everywhere! For travelling I would take a look at the great ocean road, Brighton beach and St Kilda. All of these are in/close to Melbourne.

Of course take your changes and travel around Australia!
