Information about your placement

In which department(s) are you working? not in one specific department, I work with many different tasks relating to different departments (e.g sales)
Brief description of your daily activities: The daily activities change with the months working here. In the beginning rather easy tasked have been assigned to me, to get to know the products the company offers and the way of working in the office. After working with products for a long time, I moved on to different photo database programs and did my company assignment in regard with sustainability.
Furthermore, taking care of the presence of the company on social media was one of my daily tasks during the whole time of the placement-
Brief description of your company assignment: The company assignment came together out of about 4 different smaller parts, all of which evolve around sustainability and its improvement in the office, company and country.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: My boss was my supervisor at the same time. She assigned all my tasks to me and has been open and available for questions and guidance through the whole period of the placement.

How did you prepare for the country’s culture?
I did not really prepare.
Read something about the culture and way of life on the internet, e.g. blogs, etc., talk to people who have already lived in Asia, or even Vietnam. Be aware that this is a developing country, be open-minded when you arrive and be ready to communicate with your hands and feet because the level of English of locals is low.
Did the culture of the country influence your performance during the placement in any way? you become more self conscious and self reflective of your own behavior

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Always stay polite even if a situation is frustrating. Don’t get mad when you are being treated differently, or maybe unfair, you are a foreigner so this is normal. The people will stare at you, don’t worry about it. When you were short pants or skirts, they will stare even more.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: The city is massive so there are plenty of things to do.
