Company culture: Informal, two of the three employees are working from their home. I worked, with the owner, at her house in a room, the office. There is a dog, you meet the family and you really feel like you are home.

In which department(s) are you working? I have been working in the marketing department.

Brief description of your company assignment: I have been working on a social media strategy for a property. I have been doing research to the target markets, the values and creating a recommendation.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: My supervisor was working from home so I had contact with her via Skype. This is ok, she came to the office a few times and I could ask her anything through the Skype chat. Sometimes with arranging a meeting or when I needed something for school it took some time to make it clear, but it was no problem.

I did not really prepare, getting used to the difference took a few weeks.
Did the culture of the country influence your performance during the placement in any way? Yes, it is not as safe as in the Netherlands

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Definitely go abroad. It was an amazing experience and it did change me. The internship itself was not always that exciting, but it was totally worth it.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Yes, everything is possible in Cape Town
