Marketing Department

Brief description of your daily activities: The workload at the Marketing Department can be very heavy, because we are looking after two hotels (Corinthia Hotel St. George's Bay & Marina Hotel Corinthia Beach Resort). This makes the Marketing Department a very busy department, in which no day is the same!
In this department we are making posters, brochures, leaflets, website updates and a lot more!
Brief description of your company assignment: During my Company Assignment I did research after the USPs and UBRs of Corinthia Hotel St. Georges Bay. I did Desk Research and Qualitative Research (Interviews) to figure out what the USPs and UBRs are for the hotel. After my research I made some recommendations.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: First of all, show your interests in your job. If you show your interests, the employees will be interested in you! Show that you are willing to learn!
Besides, ask as much as you can. You colleagues will help you and it will improve the quality of your internship.

Also, for accommodation, get started as soon as possible. In Malta it is not as quick as in The Netherlands and it is even more difficult.
Good to know is that the transport in Malta is not like that in The Netherlands. So, get your accommodation in the area of St Julians or Swieqi. That way you can walk to work and not be dependent on a bus.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Go and discover the islands of Malta! Malta offers so much sights and places of interest! Really, there is a lot to do in Malta!
Go to Valletta, Mdina, Gozo, Three Cities, Dingli Cliffs and much more!
Do not go to the St. Julians area, because this area is not offering tourist sights.
See as much as you can during the time you are in Malta! This is cooler and there are less tourists when summer ends!
Recommendation: Rent a Quad on Gozo!
