Company culture: Because of the fact that that Corinthia is a 5 star hotel the company is very formal. The Atmosphere between the colleagues is informal. Working as an intern at Corinthia is not always challenging. In comparison with your colleagues you don’t get a lot of tasks, and most of the time your tasks are not enough to keep you busy all day.

Brief description of your daily activities: – Liaising between the events team and clients when necessary
– Ensuring the distribution of BEO sheets to all departments on a weekly basis
– Updating the Daily Forecast Report with current events within the hotel
– Put in reservations in the system
Brief description of your company assignment: Research how to arrange more bookings from corporate guests for the hotel
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: Your work directly with you supervisor. She is willing to help you, but she is also very busy. Most of the help and explanation you need you get from other colleagues.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Show your colleagues that you want to learn from them. Ask questions and show them that you are interested in there tasks. It is important that you get involved with the team. Otherwise you can feel a bit locked out.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Malta is a small island but also very beautiful. In summer I recommend you to visit the beaches in the north of Malta. Some other things that are lovely to visit are the small villages and Gozo.
