Organization’s activities: The Sydney office has been trading successfully as an Inbound Tour Operator handling FIT and Group bookings for wholesale clients in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, South Africa and South America. An inbound tour operator provides itinerary planning, product selection, and coordinates the reservation, confirmation and payment of travel arrangements on behalf of their overseas clients and they are also looking after clients on destinations, If clients have any problems or would like to make changes while they are travelling.

Company culture: The team members of Goway travel hail from over 40 different countries and have diverse life experiences. The Goway office in Sydney has 32 employees. There is an office manager who oversees all the different departments in the office, while the various department heads oversee the employees individually. There is an informal atmosphere, and not really a hierarchy.

I am working in the fit support/ documents department.

Brief description of your daily activities: Dssistant. ocument A

• Prepare final documentation and forward to agent/passengers ensuring information is correct and they are actioned and forwarded
• Prepare self drive kits and ensure that there are enough made up
• Ensure the documents are sent out in a timely manner
• Add new itinerary details as new products are developed
• Ensure each self drive package has a checklist made up
• Advise documents Supervisor when more bags and maps are needed
• Stock take of document supplies
• Assist with reservations team
• Other office and administrative duties can be requested by the Manager
• Attend product training and updates within the office
Brief description of your company assignment: Indigenous tourism ( aboriginal) and its suitability to the European market.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: Your internship at Goway will be very educational. You will have a lot of responsibility but your colleagues are very friendly and will help you a lot. During your internship you will have enough time to work on your assignment.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: just save a lot of money, if you also want to travel during your internship
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: There are a lot of restaurants, bars, clubs, beaches, shops.
There are also a lot of National Parks around Sydney where you can see a lot of wildlife.
You have to visit the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge of course, but it is also nice to see some things outside the city for example Manly Beach.
