Organization’s activities: Absolute groups & Incentives is an event agency. The organisation is a destination management company (DMC) for Mallorca and Ibiza in the MICE-Sector. MICE, which means meetings, incentives, conferences and events, is a growing sector in the touristic market.
Their name ‘Absolute stands for unique, dynamic, enthusiastic and incomparable team, which strives day after day to organise unforgettable events for their clients. Moreover, ‘absolute’ characterise themselves as a company that has a long experience in the MICE-sector. Moreover, they are good in creative planning and implementation as well as, they are always taking care of their clients, since they do not know the word ‘no’ and also all the enquiries are responded within 48 hours. All in all, they are putting 100% effort and commitment to their clients.
Moreover, Absolute A-incentives are organising meetings & Congresses in Mallorca, Ibiza and Alicante. They are specialised in making tailormade events for their clients due to the fact they know how to adapt the diverse possibilities of a destination to the individual needs and wishes of their clients.
The company organises and manages the events and trips from A to Z. When they get a request for a trip for a group or incentives, they will offer them an amount of options for hotels, activities, restaurants, events, congresses and transfers. A personalised quotation will be made and send to the client. They will always try to make the best composed trip as possible within the requests from the clients.

Event Management

Brief description of your daily activities: • Making offers for clients
When the company receives a new request, I can make a composed and personalised offer for them. This offer contains a quotation with all the prices of the options, and a full presentation with pictures and explanations where the client gets a good idea of the offered hotels, activities, restaurants and meeting rooms.
• Making cost sheets
Cost sheets, well known as the quotation, requires a good knowledge of excel. I will make the quotation for the clients including all prices, IVA, commission and touristic taxes.
• Keeping track of invoices
I will be keeping track of invoices and all the payments that may have to be done by the clients or by us to the other companies.
• Assisting during events
Sometimes, I will be assisting during events. This means that we will take care of the clients and make sure every small detail is good and ready. We will be doing pre-checks at hotels, restaurants, etc. and make sure everything is okay.
• Preparing planning for upcoming events
I also will help preparing and planning for upcoming events. It takes a lot of organizational skills to plan everything correctly.
• E-mail with providers and clients
I will have contact with the providers and clients by e-mail. Therefore, people will get to know me and feel comfortable. I will always make sure that they will not hesitate to contact me if they have questions or new ideas
Brief description of your company assignment: I made a destination analysis of the island. I researched different perspectives with both quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: Find a place to live in the capital city: Palma. Here a lot of other students live and so you meet a lot of people.
Try to force yourself to learn the language, this will make your stay here much more easy.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: In Palma there is a lot to do. Also, it is nice to explore the rest of the island. You can go hiking in the mountains or find beautiful beaches and small cute towns.
