Information about your placement

In which department(s) are you working? Accounting, Planning & Product development.
I mostly worked on the planning department, but had the opportunity to get to know each department of the company, for my company assignment I developed new tourism products.
Brief description of your daily activities: Working on my company assignment, contacting suppliers, making a proposal program for the clients, put this in the reservation system when the final program was finished, doing market research and develop a product for that market.
Brief description of your company assignment: Researching the high-end market, researching DMC Iceland, and find a match, what is needed to attract this market, and write a product plan and marketing plan.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: The supervision is good, he was involved and up to date with all things that I did during my placement. And questions can be asked any time. I get to know every aspect of the company.

I did not
Did the culture of the country influence your performance during the placement in any way? The Icelandic culture is very similar to the Dutch culture. But being in a new environment is always influencing someone. I had to switch extra because I just came from Turkey.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: I did the Golden Circle Super Jeep tour, I hiked in Porsmork, went to the Bue Lagoon, I went to the festival in Isjafordur on the West Fjords which was fantastic, the nightlife is very nice, the country is very very beautiful, just explore it and everything is beautiful.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: The nightlife in Reykjavik, the art galleries, whale watching, Golden Circle, the Blue lagoon and other several heated swimming pools in the city are great to relax.
