In which department(s) are you working?

There are not really departments. It is a small company so there are only a few working on each department.

Brief description of your daily activities: – helping the team with outside operations
– making menus for clients
– helping to make proposals
– basic administration tasks

In my opinion (not enough to do for interns)

(finding a solution for the company to make a consistent plan to work with)
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: Supervision was not great, the team and the managers are very nice but as I said before I had the feeling that they did not really care about what you learn and what not. Most of the time I was bored and doing nothing. There was never a moment where the supervisor/manager said ‘hey you know what, come sit next to me so I can explain what I am doing.

Requirements for students on placement

What kind of personal skills are required for this placement? Independent, team player and social at the same time. Cause in the office you are on your own, everyone is busy with their own tasks, but outside when going on operations you need to communicate very well with the others to make sure everything goes according to the plan. And since you are working wit many clients you need to be social.

What did the company pay for/to you? Nothing really on the working hours , only when we were invited for lunch or dinners with suppliers the food was free.

One big event that i worked extra for them in my free time and on my birthday I got a bit of money 8 euro per hour and a conference.

Culture

How did you prepare for the country’s culture?
I did not really prepare anything.
The only thing that I noticed was that Maltese people are really religious and in every village there is a big church.
Did the culture of the country influence your performance during the placement in any way? no not at all

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: If I had to choose again I don’t think I would choose MI Malta. I don’t have the feeling that I have learned a lot from this internship. The only benefit for me was that the people working for the company are sweethearts, some of them really became my friends.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Only the summer is amazing for activities and swimming, however the numbers of tourists who come and visited the island was crazy. It was just too much and too hot. And since it is an island you can’t really escape whenever you want to another city or surrounding.

Overall for people who like the island life and party life this is the perfect island.
