Type of organization: Incoming tour operator
Organization’s activities: Haman Scandinavia offers tours for groups and individual travellers which the company sells to travel agencies. Hence, it is an intermediary and does not sell tours to the end customer. The main destinations Haman offers itineraries at are the northern parts like Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland and Russia.

Company culture: Haman Scandinavia is part of the Haman Group, which is a name that represents all the companies that are part of it. Haman Group exists of Haman Scandinavia, Terra Nova Scandinavia and Authentic Scandinavia and is functional in five different countries.
There are 3 different departments in the Stockholm office: The purchasing department, group department and Cities and Tours.
I worked at the group department in where the work environment was very nice and one felt comfortable and welcome at the company from the beginning. Everybody cooperates in a friendly and respectful way.

In which department(s) are you working?

Group department

Brief description of your daily activities: During the internship period I assisted mostly on the supplier side with updating bookings, inserting name-lists into the booking system, sending booking requests and finalizing the travel documents and vouchers. Answering the phone is also a requirement. I got a full picture of all that needed to be done from a client request until the group is on it’s way and give their feed-back at the end of the tour.

Brief description of your company assignment: I conducted a survey regarding the satisfactory of the travel documents Haman sends out to the clients. After I received the answers, I summarized the main problems and recommended actions for further improvement.

Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: Good supervision due to monthly follow-up meetings. They made very clear I could ask anything I wanted.

How did you arrange your accommodation? I stayed in an AirBnB for one week at the beginning. Once I was here, it was not difficult to find the right accommodation. I found my place via Facebook. However, I received many invitations to look at the room at www.blocket.se
