Type of organization: CETT is a group which includes the following companies:CETT-UB University, Hotel Alimara, Ágora BCN Student Residence, CETT Consultors, Viatges Century and BAS (Barcelona Academic Services). I am working at BAS.
Organization’s activities: Providing different courses at different levels, arranging international study programs, executing research studies for public and private companies, arranging business events, etc.
Target group of the organization: (Inter)national students and other professionals within the Tourism and Hospitality industry.
Company culture: Everyone is very friendly and open. The communication between colleagues is very good.

Brief description of your daily activities: Helping within the preparation for the Summer Schools: Developing promotional campaigns, establishing contact with partner universities or students, thinking about new ideas for the programs and administration tasks.
During the Summer Schools: Arranging information for the groups of international students and assist during activities or excursions,

Brief description of your company assignment: My company assignment included a market research to the potential markets for new established study programs of CETT.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: The supervision by the organization is good but simple. If you need help or you need to arrange something there will always be someone who will help you. However, you have to keep track of things yourself.

Other information

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: I participated in a small language exchange program organized by the placement company. This improved my Spanish language skills and I met some other students living here in Barcelona. It was a great experience.

Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Barcelona is a lovely city which has so many fun things to offer. There are a lot of museums, restaurants, bars and shopping malls. In addition, the city has a great beach. Although it is a large city, everything is still easily accessible in a short time. Especially the metro is a great mode of transport. The people are very friendly and I always felt welcome.
