Bedrijfsbeschrijving: Fair Tourism is a Nonprofit organization that is engaged in Community-based-tourism. The mission of the organization is to assist indigenous communities to develop small-scale tourism activities that are owned by the community and benefit the locals. In addition, the organization creates educational material and provides lectures to institutions, tour operators and other stakeholders

Korte omschrijving van je dagelijkse werkzaamheden: My daily activities consist of administration tasks that revolve around the organization of the company. Moreover, I am engaged in communication with external stakeholders for partnerships and lectures. To add to that, I take part in team projects that revolve around funding with other team members. Finally, evaluation of resources and references that are important for the organization.
Korte omschrijving van je bedrijfsopdracht:

The company assignment which is part of my placement report is focused on the organizational structure and culture of the organization, The research discusses the challenges in NGOs and volunteer organizations in the current state of affairs, diagnosis of the company culture, and interventions that can be applied in the context of a volunteer organization.

Begeleiding vanuit het bedrijf: The guidance in the organization comes with contact moments with the supervisor and the chairs of the various teams. The informal culture of the organization allows to contact through WhatsApp and receive help fast. Feedback can be discussed in team meetings which occur once a week and in communication with the supervisor.

Toekomstige studenten

Tips met betrekking tot deze stage: It’s an interesting placement for people-oriented volunteers that are keen on widening their knowledge on social and tourism matters. Its a plus if you are self-motivated and can balance working and meeting online.
