Organization’s activities: The company organizes corporate events & trips for incentives and MICE tourists. They organize based on what the wishes are from the clients, this can be dinners, team-bonding or teambuilding activities, trips etc. They specialize in Portugal, Spain and Morocco, but they organize events and trips all over the world.

Company culture: The company culture is quite informal, everyone is just how they are and wears what they like.

Information about your placement

In which department(s) are you working?

I work in the marketing department.

Brief description of your daily activities: There is nobody above me in terms of the marketing department, so I have to arrange the whole marketing. This includes; writing social media posts for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn and planning these with a special application. Next to that I have to write newsletters about different cities. Furthermore, I have to update the database and call with clients to update the database. And in the meantime I am researching the different social media platforms and I chose to write a marketing communication plan for the company.
Brief description of your company assignment: My company assignment is writing a marketing communication plan for the company, which consists of finding out the target group and looking at how they communicate with their target group in terms of online and in person behaviour.
Comment briefly on your supervision by the organization: The supervision by the organization is a lot focused on being very independent. They give you suggestions on what you can do, but you have to figure out yourself how to implement it. You need to show a lot of initiative and come up with a lot of ideas yourself. The supervision of the organization is there to support you.

Recommendations on what to do and what not to do: I would recommend to go to a study cafe on your free days in order to stay productive throughout the day.
Leisure possibilities in the city/surroundings of where the placement took place: Barcelona is an amazing city to live in. If you like the beach, mountains, the big city, beautiful views, hikes, working out, parties, going for dinner/ drinks/ lunch, like to travel around Spain, this city is definitely something for you! (TIP: Go to the Costa Brava: Tossa de Mar (Calla Pola), Begur, Calella de Palafrugell, Cadaques, Cap de Creus!!)
