Korte omschrijving van je dagelijkse werkzaamheden: My daily activities include all-round task from sales, marketing, product, quality control and administration tasks. The main activity is to conduct a desk-audit based on 250 Travelife certification criteria. As the coach assistant, I have to read companies’ sustainability report and analyze whether it has been complied with Travelife standards, otherwise, I have to leave some feedback for improvements. The other activity also includes following new registration processes (sales). It is an activity where a new registered company has to be approached via emails and calls until they are interested to become a Travelife member and pay a certain membership fee based on their preference. I present Travelife to give a sales/marketing call to the companies, explaining Travelife benefits and its programmes. TI also has a lot of tasks for quality control such as checking the website/platform functionality, user experience, and suggest for improvements. I developed some “best practices” to inspired other companies. Lastly, the interns worked in several project like SUSTOUR, an EU-funded programme to attract small-medium enterprises tour operator in European Union to practice sustainability. We also conducted a survey and research in addition to SUSTOUR project.
Korte omschrijving van je bedrijfsopdracht:

My company assignment is to conduct research on Southeast Asian tour operators in regards to their interest on sustainability. I would like to understand how these tour operators perceive sustainability in their business (office) practices or in the tourism activities itself.

Begeleiding vanuit het bedrijf: I came to the office once to twice a week to maintain my communication with my other colleagues. On the other three days, we work from home but also applying check-in and check-out call so we know what the other colleagues and I will do throughout the day. We have 3 times evaluation which is in the beginning, mid-term, and final evaluation to get peer reviews and feedback on our performances.

– Always ask if you do not understand on certain things.
– Take your time when doing a harder task is totally fine.
– Be more result-oriented, and pay attention to details.
